THISTLENOOK NORTHERN INUIT DOGS

Margaret is a firm believer in training , as she says well trained dogs are "Happy Dogs" and that makes for "Happy Owners " She said that she had to be trained to train us .

She searched for a long time to find a registered Trainer . She did find a  Registered Trainer  who did "The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme" The training methods were Fair , Firm and Friendly .

Shanook did her Kennel Club Good Citizen Puppy Foundation Course first as I wasn't in the household yet . She passed . That was an eight week course . Shanook got a Certificate and a Rosette for passing .

I have been on the Kennel Club Good citizen Foundation Puppy Coure and won second prize It was just a treat but I liked it . I had to go by myself as Shanook had finished hers. It was strange she wasnt there.I have a Certificate and a Rosette for passing the course as well

After a few months, we both went on to do The Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Awards. It was hard but we both did it .We both have a Certificate and a Rosette  for passing the course . Margaret had to answer questions as well but she got them all right.

Well in July ,I did get my Kennel Club Good citizen Silver Award. Shanook did as well . I did manage to sit for 2 minutes!!. We both got a Certificate and a Silver Medal. That was hard ! Margaret had to be tested as well .

Well in November we went for the Kennel Club Good Citizen Gold Award.  This is really difficult , as  our failing might be the "Controlled Isolation" where we have to be in a separate room for 2 minutes and not make a sound . We can do it at home but "Oh well " I will do my best.

Well on 17th December Shanook and I did it. We did everything right !Our "Controlled Isolation "we mastered along with all the other tests. Margaret had special treats for us when we did each excercise. She made Liver and Garlic Treats ..We would do anything for them .Margaret had to answer Questions as well. She passed them all.I now am the First Norhern Inuit to get The Gold Award. Other Norhern Inuits will follow, as a lot of them have the Silver Awards.
