THISTLENOOK NORTHERN INUIT DOGS

BREEDING QUALITY NORTHERN INUITS IN SCOTLAND

My Roomate Shanook.(GSDx Husky)

My name is Shanook and I am a GSD cross Husky. It was an accidental breeding . I am not a Northern Inuit . My D.O.B. is 9/01/2004. I feel very privileged to be allowed in Jim Brown's Website . I am a bitch and am very friendly towards dogs and humans . I was 8 weeks old when I came to live here. I cried all night when I was left that first night .My coat is very silky and takes ages to dry, not like Jim Brown's. People used to admire me in the park when I was young but now Jim Brown gets admired! I did my Good Citizen Puppy Award and got a second prize. My owners thought I was very clingy so they decided to get another dog for me . I know Margaret did a lot of research and went to visit many kennels. She wanted a dog that would fit in with my temperament. Friendly , amusing and non aggressive... Well one day, she went out early and went to England and had arranged to meet a lady that was a breeder of Registered Northern Inuits. She had a name for the dog before she bought him ...imagine that !!! When she came home , she was carrying a small bundle of grey fur. I looked at this thing with amusement . It wasn't a toy as it moved . It drank out my water bowl, so it must be a dog. I was so happy ! I smelled it and could smell his Mother . He was put to bed and I looked after him , he didn't cry once. I  am very glad that I have a friend and a dog who is so good natured ..like me!!  Now that he is bigger he can look after himself . I just love Jim Brown . He is so friendly and I wouldn't be the same without him.I would feel so lost. Northern Inuits make good companions.I am more excitable than him but it wouldn't do if we were all the same. When I was out walking , an old lady admired me . She said that I reminded her of her dog. She had to give her dog away as her husband had died and she couldn't cope alone with the dog. She asked what my name was. She cried and cried as her dogs name was Shanook. She told Margaret what Shanook meant . Seemingly, it is an old Eskimo name , meaning "The Wind That Brings The Snow" or the colour "White"
